Game Review: Call of Duty 4 Modern Warfare is a multiplatform computer game in the genre of first-person shooter developed by the American  Company Infinity Ward and published by Activision.  The game is the fourth in a series of Call of Duty and the first in the sub-series of Modern Warfare;  Officially the project was announced on May 26 2007.

The game Call of Duty 4 Modern Warfare was released on November 5 2007 on three target platforms PC Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 and later – on the platforms of Mac Nintendo DS and Nintendo Wii.  Since November 12 2007 the game has become available for purchase through the Internet service Steam.

The plot of the game is connected with modern military actions a single campaign gives the player the opportunity to play for some fighters of the special services of the United States and Great Britain and regular units.  The game takes place in Russia Azerbaijan Ukraine and the Middle East.

For the first 24 hours of sales about 600000 copies of the game were sold.  In total over 10 million copies of the game were sold worldwide.

Also on May 25 2010 the game became available for purchase on the Xbox Live system which allowed those interested in purchasing this game not to buy it on the disc but by paying for it download to their console. 2

May 2 2016 was announced reissue of the game for PC PlayStation 4 and Xbox One;  Reissue was released on November 4 2016 along with Call of Duty Infinite Warfare.

Call Of Duty 4 Game Overview: 

During the single player campaign the first-person player acts as six different characters.  The first of these appears John “Soap” MacTavish (John “Soap” MacTavish) – a newly recruited sergeant of the 22nd SAS Regiment 3;  Maktavish operates under the captain (formerly Lieutenant) John Price (English John Price voice – Billy Murray en) also available for playing in two levels-flashbacks whose action takes place in Pripyat in 1996.  Also the player on several levels of the first act acts as Sergeant Paul Jackson (English Paul Jackson) a fighter of the 1st US Marine Corps reconnaissance unit aimed at the Middle East.  In addition to the above among the game characters are Yasir al-Fulani – the president of an unnamed Middle Eastern country whose execution from the first person is shown in the first act;  Operator of military aircraft AC-130 Specter with call sign “Flame” supporting SAS fighters;  And operative SAS acting as the main character in the final level of “Mile High Club”.

Call Of Duty 4 Game Features: 

Non-player characters play important roles in the story the aforementioned Captain Price and his right hand Gus (English voice Craig Fairbrace) act as Sope’s mentors while Price’s coach is Captain MacMillan who appears during flashback missions in Pripyat.  Jackson as part of the Marine squad operates under the command of Lieutenant Vasquez and Sergeant Griggs;  Later Griggs accompanies Price’s detachment.  During the missions in Russia Sergeant Kamarov a government officer appears to be supporting the Price squad.
