Game Review: Call of Duty World at War – a multiplatform computer game in the genre of a first-person shooter developed by the American company Treyarch and published by Activision. The fifth game in the series Call of Duty as well as the penultimate where the action takes place during the Second World War.
Game Call of Duty World at War was released in November 2008 on six target platforms PlayStation 2 PlayStation 3 Xbox 360 PC Nintendo Wii and Nintendo DS. November 19 2008 the game became available for purchase through the Internet service Steam.
The plot of the game returns to the actions of the Second World War and begins with the place where the Japanese soldiers captured the main character. A single campaign contains two sides – one of them is American which offers the player to fight with Japanese soldiers and the second is a Soviet one that offers the player to fight with the Germans.
On the first day of the release of the game more than one million copies of the game were sold. Thus the game skipped forward only sports simulator FIFA 09.

The mission runs from 1942 to 1945. Throughout the storyline the game is played for two characters. The first is the private Marine Corps Miller. The main character of almost all missions for the United States (not counting only one mission – for the sergeant-gunner Locke entering the squadron “Black Cats” is the third character). The second one is a private soldier of the Red Army Dmitry Petrenko. This character will represent the USSR. In total the game has 15 missions.

Begins the landing on the island of Peleliu. Private Miller under the command of the same Sergeant Sullivan goes to Peleliu Island. During the landing they stumbled upon the stones being under mortar fire. But Miller can get out of there. Sullivan orders Miller to take a walkie-talkie and cause a blow along the embankment where the machine guns nests of the Japanese are located. After the strike the troops pass into the depths of the Japanese defense and destroy the remaining fortifications. Then you need to capture the command post. Miller Corporal Roybuk Private Polonsky and Sergeant Tom Sullivan make their way inside and clean out the bunker. But during the respite they are attacked by a Japanese officer and kills Tom Sullivan’s katana.
